Tanya Barrett, Senior Vice President at United Way of Connecticut’s 211 Division, has more then 30 years of experience in health and human services, specializing in crisis intervention, emergency support and disaster response. As a licensed mental health clinician and seasoned social worker, Tanya has consistently demonstrated her ability to design, develop and implement impactful programs, solve complex problems and lead diverse teams. She is a dedicated board member and advisor for numerous organizations, including the Connecticut Health Foundation and the Behavioral Health Implementation Team Advisory Board.
An advocate for innovative resource allocation during crises, Tanya combines her strategic vision with excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with state agencies, funders and stakeholders. She is committed to fostering equitable access to services and supporting community resilience.
Tanya holds a Bachelor of Social Work from Western Connecticut State University, a Master of Science in Counseling, specializing in Human Resource Development from the University of Bridgeport and a Sixth-Year Certificate in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
