Statewide Planning for Youth Development. United Way's Community Results Center is staffing and facilitating a planning process for the Youth Futures Committee. Summer Food Service Program

The Summer Food Service Program was created to ensure that children in lower-income neighborhoods would continue to receive nutritious meals during school vacations, when they do not have access to school lunch or breakfast programs. Although millions of children throughout the U.S. receive free and reduced-price meals and snacks during the regular school year, just a fraction of that take advantage of the free meals provided by the SFSP during the summer months. 2-1-1 Helps Flood Relief Efforts

Did you know that 2-1-1 also plays a critical role in disaster recovery efforts? From the terrorist activities of 9/11, to Hurricane Katrina, and most recently assisting in collecting FEMA data from the Nor'easter flooding in Southwestern Connecticut, 2-1-1 serves as a critical part of the state's emergency response communications system. United Way 2-1-1 supports a simple and efficient method for people to learn about and access services and agencies in times of crisis. To learn more about those efforts click here.
