Help Spread the Word

2-1-1 As many of you well know, United Way 2-1-1 has been helping state residents access needed services for over three decades. We literally help hundreds of thousands of residents each year. Now, to help us spread the word about 2-1-1, we have produced a new video highlighting our mission and services. The video is being distributed to Connecticut United Ways, nonprofits, businesses and media outlets around the state. Posting this video on your website or sharing it with family and friends can go a long way to help expand the reach of 2-1-1. Help us spread the word!

Veterans Stand Down

Each year, the Veterans Stand Down serves over 1,000 Veteran's Stand Downhomeless and needy veterans. This year's Stand Down will be held Friday, September 9 at the Connecticut Veterans Home in Rocky Hill. Government and private organizations will offer services and assistance to veterans including food, clothing, job counseling, housing and medical screenings. Visit http://www.ct.gov/ctva for information on the Stand Down. Click here for information from the 2-1-1 resource database on veterans' resources..

School Supply Donations

The new school year is rapidly approaching and there are many families in Connecticut that need help providing basic school supplies for their children. Dial 2-1-1 or visit www.211ct.org, enter your town and search for "school supplies" to find information on where to donate or find school supplies.

Stay Safe during Hurricane Season

In Connecticut, peak hurricane season runs from mid-August to October. As we enter the heart of the season, remember that 2-1-1 is a source for preparedness information and can help residents find the resources they need in the aftermath of a storm. 2-1-1's updated e-Library paper has important information on hurricane and tornado preparedness.
