HUSKY Infoline - Keeping People
Connected to Health Care
HUSKY Infoline is a specialized unit of the United Way of Connecticut that has served over 1.2 million Connecticut residents since its inception in 1998. Now more than ever, HUSKY Infoline provides a vital service helping people access health care. A call to 877-CT-HUSKY connects families to knowledgeable telephone care coordinators who are ready to advocate for HUSKY clients to help them get the healthcare they need. Care coordinators work with callers who need assistance accessing HUSKY health insurance and healthcare. This includes helping families find and make appointments with health care providers and assisting with locating transportation options. To learn more about HUSKY Infoline click here. |
New Literacy Initiative
Highlights Need |
A new literacy campaign aimed at attracting students and tutors to literacy and adult education programs focuses on Hartford but highlights the urgent need statewide. Low literacy skills occur among people from all walks of life and affect an individual's ability to reach their full potential and function on the job and in society. To find a literacy or adult education program in your community, dial 2-1-1 or visit www.211ct.org, enter your town and click on "Education" on the left side of the screen.
