2-1-1 Barometer: 2-1-1 Child CareChild Care

Finding high quality, affordable child care is a challenge faced by many Connecticut families every day but it is essential to helping children enter kindergarten socially and academically ready to learn. 2-1-1 Child Care is focused on helping to improve the quality of care available through programs like the Family Child Care Career Support Project, Provider Orientation and numerous Early Child Care Trainings for parents and providers. Read more about these programs in the latest edition of the 2-1-1 Barometer.

State to Hold Emergency
Preparedness Exercise

stormIn order to be better prepared for the next inevitable emergency event, the state Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection/Division of Emergency Management and Homeland Security is planning a statewide exercise on July 28, 29, 30 and 31. Municipalities, state agencies, utility companies and private sector entities will participate in the exercise that will involve hurricane planning, preparation, response and recovery. The goal of the exercise is to help municipalities and the state be better prepared to aid Connecticut residents during any type of a serious disaster, including a hurricane.
