United Way 2-1-1 Conducts Tax Credit Outreach Campaign - United Way of Connecticut is once again conducting its Tax Credits Outreach Campaign to inform and educate families about their eligibility for federal tax credits. Information on the Earned Income Tax Credit, the Child Tax Credit and the Child and Dependent Care Tax Credits, were sent to approximately 75,000 families and early care professionals associated with UWC programs. State Residents have been Dialing 2-1-1 for 10 Years - United Way 2-1-1 is celebrating its 10th anniversary as the number to call for all health and human services referrals. On February 11, 1999, Connecticut became the first state to implement a statewide 2-1-1 system. 2-1-1 now typically handles over 300,000 calls annually. (more)
